Rehabilitation

“We are not only responsible for what we do, but also for what we don´t do!”

Replacing older medical equipment and acquiring new equipment is a large part of our hospital´s rehabilitation. Firstly, this exchange guarantees us better and faster care for our patients, and secondly, it enables us to open the departments that are so urgently needes, such as an oncology, paediatrics, the maternity ward and the intensive care unit for newborns.

By replacing the medical devices, we can also save an enormous amount of maintenance and electricity costs, and thus enable more patients to receive the medical help and care they so urgently need.

The most important aspect of medical equipment rehabilitation is the replacement of the old MRI machine with a new 3T MRI machine.

Installed in 2012, our MRI is an extremely important piece of equipment for our diagnostic needs in the medical imaging departement and is currently experiencing an extremeley high failure rate, which continues to increase every year. The replacement was originally planned for 2019, but has been repeatedly postponed due to the crisis. Currently, this machine generates significant and increasing maintenance costs, on the one hand due to the high cost of spare parts and the frequent breakdowns, but on the other hand also due to its significant maintenance requirements.

Equipment downtime resulting in high opportunity costs for the hospital and a disadvantage in the quality of patient care as the MRI utilization rate is more than 95% in normal times. It must also be noted that the equipment was severely affected by the explosion and required extensive repairs to be put back into service. The replacement of this device has therefore become a priority for the hospital, as it will both improve diagnostic performance, reduce operationall maintenance costs and significantly open up the possibility of new types of interventions.

Those who will enable us to do this have a significant impact on the lives of our patients.
